Midsummer is the beginning of the half-year of festivals concerning the Mysteries of the Mother, Creatrix of the Universe. The central festival of Summer is Rosa Mundi, which opens the season of the Fire and the Rose. The season is a solar-lunar one, beginning with the summer solstice and ending with the full moon, this year almost two weeks later. It is celebrated with bonfires, fireworks and displays of roses.
